HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

We are always happy to provide more information on becoming a licensed foster parent. For more information, please visit our “Find an Agency” link or fill out a contact request form.

We are in need of families willing to open their homes and hearts to provide the care, support and encouragement kids need while allowing them to remain in their home community. These are “OUR” Big Country & Texoma Kids and having an opportunity to remain in the Big Country & Texoma while they are in foster care will lead to better outcomes for them and their families. By providing care for them as a licensed foster home, you will help reduce the likelihood of further trauma caused when these children have to leave not only their homes, but also their brothers and sisters, extended family, friends, teachers – their community! Foster parents along with their treatment team work together to help the child feel comfortable in a home environment while receiving other supportive and clinical services.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

We understand that not everyone has the ability to open their home or become a licensed foster parent. Don’t worry! There are other ways you can still make a positive impact on Big Country & Texoma Kids. We need your help right where you live for the following:

  • Respite Care
  • Start a meal train for a family that has just accepted a new foster placement
  • Obtain the training to become a babysitter
  • Collect donations and/ or help with drives
  • Start a wraparound group with your church or group to provide the needed items for a new placement
    • For example, provide a box that has diapers, bottles/sippy cups, blankets and clothing
  • Help with appreciation events for foster parents and/or caseworkers
  • Have us come present to your group or organization to spread the word of what we are doing and how the public can help
  • Support a local Child Welfare Board by becoming a member or volunteering
  • Foster Home Support
  • Adoptions
  • Foster Care
  • & more!
